Perfect Scoundrels is the third book in Ally Carter’s Heist Society series, and, I gotta tell ya, it’s the best yet. That’s not to say that the preceding two books weren’t amazing as well, cause they were—I’m just saying that Carter has indeed outdone herself with this one.

All right, so I watched a few booktubers do this (ie. 1book1review), and I thought it was really cool. However, I’m not going to put my face on camera (any of me, including my voice, actually). I refuse. So, I’m writing it! :D

AND I TAG YOU. 

• Diabetes: a book that’s too sweet or really sweet.

• Chicken Pox: a book that you’ve read once, and will never pick up again.

• Influenza: the flu; a contagious book that spreads like a virus.

• The cycle: a book you read every month, year, or often.

• Insomnia: a book that kept you up all night.

• Amnesia: a book that’s forgotten, and failed to leave a powerful impression in your memory.

• Asthma: a book that took your breath away.

• Malnutrition: a book that lacked food for thought.

• Travel sickness: a book that took you on a journey through time or space, or to a specific local on the map.

I picked: The Good Earth by Pearl S Buck. Because it was a fantastic read that made me want to witness the characters’ world first hand. And then come back. Totally. Or maybe go into the book, be in the worlds as a ghost-thing, and then come back. A close second was Persuasion by Jane Austen (with the traveling ghost option, of course).

Okay, since this is the 5th book in the series you can assume I liked the rest. But I’m telling you, I loved this one. I read it in less than a day, even though I have piles of school work looming over me.

The last thing Cammie Morgan remembers is leaving the Gallagher Academy to protect her friends and family from the Circle of Cavan—an ancient terrorist organization that has been hunting her for over a year. But when Cammie wakes up in an alpine convent and discovers months have passed, she must face the fact that her memory is now a black hole. The only traces left of Cammie’s summer vacation are the bruises on her body and the dirt under her nails, and all she wants is to go home.

Once she returns to school, however, Cammie realizes that even the Gallagher Academy now holds more questions than answers. Cammie, her friends, and mysterious spy-guy Zach must face their most difficult challenge yet as they travel to the other side of the world, hoping to piece together the clues that Cammie left behind. It’s a race against time. The Circle is hot on their trail and willing stop at nothing to prevent Cammie from remembering what she did last summer.

I. loved. This. Book. And I don’t care if I’m too old to be reading this, it’s seriously good.

• I love Zach. I want one.
  
• Since this is the 5th book, I have had time to love the characters. I really like them all (aside from the ones you’re not supposed to like).
  
• I really like that there’s actual bad guys in this book.
• Finally, something happens! Something big and dramatic and I enjoyed every word of it.
  
• The plot is great, there’s awesome action and funny dialogue (at times) and the characters felt so real in this book. Much more believable.
  
• I know some people would say that everything is resolved too easily and that the books are corny or whatever, but I disagree. I like that these books are fun, easy reads. There’s nothing wrong with that.
  
• I love Heist Society but I love this even more. I’m just so happy with this book.
• And I don’t want to wait to get the next book. *is SAD*
  

I know this isn’t a real review, not like I usually do them anyway, but it’s all I could manage.

Oh, and yes, I do think the book is too short. *is SAD*

These books are so fun.

Cammie Morgan is a student at the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women, a fairly typical all-girls school-that is, if every school taught advanced martial arts in PE and the latest in chemical warfare in science, and students received extra credit for breaking CIA codes in computer class. The Gallagher Academy might claim to be a school for geniuses but it’s really a school for spies. Even though Cammie is fluent in fourteen languages and capable of killing a man in seven different ways, she has no idea what to do when she meets an ordinary boy who thinks she’s an ordinary girl. Sure, she can tap his phone, hack into his computer, or track him through town with the skill of a real “pavement artist”-but can she maneuver a relationship with someone who can never know the truth about her?

Cammie Morgan may be an elite spy-in-training, but in her sophomore year, she’s on her most dangerous mission-falling in love.

• This book has the same problems that the Heist Society books have.
  
• IT’S TOO SHORT. Just sayin’. Anyway, there’s no real room for development of anything (though there is enough to be satisfied, I guess). I wanted more!
  
• There’s wicked action (which I love) but there is the requirement that you must suspend your disbelief if you want to read these books. I don’t think they’re meant to be anything other than entertainment so don’t go in thinking that the author is going to be super accurate and all that.
  

Now, for happy comments:

• As far as the humor went, I loved it. I always love Ally Carter’s humor. It’s great to see these girls running around acting like girls and spies at the same time. No greater combination (especially if you read the second book).
• By the way, the second book is better than the first. Way better, at least that’s my opinion.
  
• The boys. Oh the boys. They are oh-so crush-worthy. Zach from the second book much more so than Josh from the first. Sorry if this spoils anything for any one.
  
• These books are filled with plenty of LOL moments. It’s great to read them though be careful when reading in public! You might look crazy, all giggly and what not.
  
• After reading these books I want to be a spy. But maybe I’ll just stick to my current plans. I’m no genius.
  

So, I say these books are a really fun and easy read. I think they’re for younger audiences but I liked then anyway (*is kid at heart*). I just recently bought the third one…Go read them!

Also, I think a movie might be made at some point in the future. *super excited*
